Nicholas Masters  

Nicholas Masters recently made his international debut with Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi as Rambaldo in La Rondine and Drebednyov in Shostakovich's Moskva Cheremushki under the baton of Oleg Caetani.  Last season Mr. Masters performed the roles of Colline in La Boheme and Luka in The Bear with Yale Opera, where he is currently finishing his Master of Music in Opera.  A graduate of McGill University's Schulich School of Music, Mr. Masters appeared frequently with Opera McGill singing the roles of Valere in Les Jeux de L'Amour, Nettuno in Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, Lagimodiere and Poundmaker in Harry Sommer's Louis Riel and John Winslow in the world premiere of Julian Wachner's Evangeline Revisited.  Additionally Mr. Masters sang the roles of Sarastro and the Speaker in The Magic Flute with Toronto's Summer Opera Lyric Theatre.  Mr. Masters was also a member of Glimmerglass Opera's Young American Artists Program where he covered the role of Le Comte de Breville in the premiere of Stephen Hartke's, The Greater Good and sang a recital of works by Mussourgsky, Lizst, and Ibert.  Concert appearances include Mozart's Requiem with Montreal's Cantabile Choir and Orchestra.  Upcoming engagements see Mr. Masters in the title role of Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle and as Don Inigo Gomez in L'Heure Espagnole, both with Yale Opera.
